Biography[]
Mara Jennings was a young woman who lived in the U.S. state of New Mexico where she worked as a nurse. She lived about ten miles outside the town of Five Keys. Mara was kidnapped by serial killer Ted Garza, whose actions were governed by the corrupting influence of an evil entity known as the Keyface demon. Following the M.O. of his predecessor, Gerald Rainier, Garza abducted Mara and brought her to his home at 414 Appletree Road where he kept her chained up in basement with the intent of ultimately killing her.
Some four months later, one of the house's original residents, Elise Rainier, returned to her childhood home at the behest of Ted Garza to investigate matters of the supernatural. All of this was actually orchestrated by the Keyface demon in order to lure the psychic Elise back home.
Fortunately for Mara, she found another ally - one who existed beyond the world of the living. One of Gerald Rainier's victims from the 1960s - a nurse named Anna was trapped in the house as a lost soul. Because of Elise Ranier's ability to perceive ghosts, Anna was able to beckon Elise to "Help her!" and guided her to where Mara was chained. Along with her partners Steven "Specs" Fisher and Tucker Croft, they were able to rescue Mara and defeat Ted Garza. [1]
