Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Mar Tuuk was created by director Brian Kalin O'Connell and writer George Krstic, based on a concept originally developed by franchise creator George Lucas. Mar Tuuk's visual appearance was developed by artist Kilian Plunkett.
- Originally, Mar Tuuk was fated to die when his battleship was destroyed during Anakin Skywalker's suicide run. George Lucas liked the character however and the broadcast episode was changed to show Mar Tuuk fleeing the doomed vessel in an escape pod. The version where Mar Tuuk dies can be found on disc four of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Complete Season One DVD set. It is also found in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Battle for Ryloth young readers novel by Grosset & Dunlap. Canonically however, Mar Tuuk survived the skirmish over Ryloth.
