The Man-Thing is an American ongoing comic book series of the supernatural thriller and horror genres. It was published by Marvel Comics and ran from November, 1979 to July, 1981, spanning a total of eleven issues. The series features the character of Ted Sallis, who was transformed into a mindless muck monster that came to be known as the Man-Thing! The original creative team on the series consisted of writer Michael Fleisher, artist Jim Mooney, inker Bob Wiacek, colorist Carl Gafford, and letterer John Costanza. It was edited by Mark Gruenwald, Denny O'Neil, and Danny Fingeroth.

- The character of Ted Sallis, aka the Man-Thing was created by writers Roy Thomas & Gerry Conway and artist Gray Morrow. He first appeared in the third story in Savage Tales #1 in May, 1971. Most of the early Man-Thing stories following his inaugural appearance were written by Steve Gerber.
