A magistrate is a title attributed to someone in a position of authority. This may apply to a political position or a military position. In the Star Wars film series, the alien known as Passel Argente was appointed the chief magistrate of Murkhana City on the planet Murkhana. On The Mandalorian, the Bounty Hunters' Guild administrator Greef Karga was the magistrate of Nevarro. The former imperial Morgan Elsbeth served as a magistrate of the city of Calodan on the planet Corvus.
