"Soul of a Gumshoe" is the title to the first issue of the Madrox comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics under their Marvel Knights imprint. The story was written by Peter David with artwork by Pablo Raimondi and inks by Drew Hennessy. It was colored by Brian Reber with lettering by VC's Cory Petit. The cover art illustration was rendered by David Lloyd. The story was edited by Andy Schmidt with Nicole Wiley as assistant editor. This issue shipped with a November, 2004 cover date and carries a cover price of $2.99 per copy (US).

- The character of Jamie Madrox was created by writers Len Wein and Chris Claremont. He first appeared in the first story from Giant-Size Fantastic Four #4 in February, 1975.
- This issue is reprinted in the Madrox: Multiple Choice trade paperback collection, which was published by Marvel in April, 2005. It was also reprinted in the X-Factor: Madrox hardcover collection, which was published in January, 2008.
