Biography[]
Madison Montgomery was a former Hollywood actress, a witch and student at Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies. A party girl, she is not well liked by the other members of the coven due to her bitchy attitude. At a frat party she attends with Zoe Benson, Madison is roofied and gang-raped by a group of boys and gets revenge by flipping over their bus, killing Kyle Spencer, a good-natured frat member that Zoe had befriended. The two girls then put Kyle back together using body parts of the other frat members and reanimate him, though he comes back as more zombified than human. When Fiona Goode feels threatened that Madison will replace her as Supreme, she seemingly slits Madison's throat (despite her objects of an accident) and the mute butler Spalding keeps Madison's corpse as a decaying, life-size doll until the witches learn where her corpse is and Zoe works with Misty Day to reanimate Madison. She then forms an attraction to Kyle and agrees to share him as a boyfriend with Zoe until Kyle falls in love with Zoe and rebuffs her advances.
During the test of the Seven Wonders, Madison makes it to the last test but fails the Test of Divination twice to Cordelia Foxx. A pissed Madison threatens to expose the coven to the media but she is strangled to death by Kyle who is angered that Madison didn't bring Zoe back to life after she accidentally impaled herself on a gate during the Test of Transmutation.
Madison reappears in Apocalypse. Cordelia, Myrtle Snow and Madison walk through the remains of Outpost Three following everyone's murder. Myrtle and Madison watch as Cordelia resurrects Mallory, Dinah Stevens and Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt. It is revealed in the next episode, "Could It Be...Satan?" that Madison was resurrected by Michael Langdon along with Queenie. Determined to redeem herself and no longer driven by an obsession to be the new Supreme, she and warlock Behold Chablis head to the Murder House and learn Michael is actually the Antichrist, working with the coven to stop the apocalypse. In the finale "Apocalypse Then", Madison is killed when Michael causes her head to explode when she stays behind to fend him off so that Cordelia, Mallory, Coco and Marie Laveau can escape. Madison's future death and earlier resurrection are undone when Mallory travels back in time to kill Michael before his rise to power.
Powers and Skills[]
Madison is a natural witch of Salem bloodline descent. She is one of the strongest witches in the Coven, especially with telekinesis, managing to master almost all of the Seven Wonders, with the exception of Divination.
- Telekinesis: One of the Seven Wonders, the ability to move objects with the power of the mind. Despite not demonstrating a "unique" power like other witches, Madison was initially shown to have great potential with her telekinesis. Even after being drunk and raped, she still managed to use her power to overturn an entire bus by herself, causing the death of everyone in the car. Even Fiona was surprised, stating that this act is not easy to perform. Upon being confronted by Joan, Madison became angry and inadvertently threw a knife across the kitchen. In the Test of the Seven Wonders, she drew a candlestick to her hand and attempted to perform divination, she gathered several pebbles into a chalice for mid-air.
- Tremor Generation: When arguing with Zoe about their relationship with Kaio, Madison gets so angry that her telekinesis causes the entire room to shake, knocking pictures off the walls and shattering a mirror.
- Concilium: One of the seven wonders, the ability to bend the will of others and make them do what you want. It is commonly known as mind control. The first time Madison used this power was when Fiona encouraged her during lunch, where Madison induced a man to cross the street with an oncoming car. While talking to Misty Day at the cemetery, she has two gravediggers bury a coffin with Misty in it. In the test of the seven wonders, she confronted Zoe with this power, but preferred to provoke her by forcing Kaio to kiss her feet.
- Pyrokinesis: One of the Seven Wonders, the ability to generate and control fire. Madison didn't know she had this ability, until she was so furious when she was kicked out of Joan's house that she ended up setting fire to the curtains of the neighbor's house, a feat that surprised Nan and even Madison herself. Soon after, she demonstrated that she was already mastering her power when she managed to light Fiona's cigarette. While taking a bath, she lit several candles around and a fireplace with a splash of flames.
- Transmutation: One of the seven wonders, the ability to move from one space to another in an instant without having to physically move. It is commonly known as teleportation. When Cordelia tried to touch Madison to try to get some insight into Misty Day's whereabouts, Madison quickly teleported across the room and then to the door. In the test of the Seven Wonders, she demonstrated to master this power well, as she was able to teleport herself through several places in the house without difficulty.
- Vitalum Vitalis: One of the seven wonders, the ability to control the balance of the scales between one vital force and another, being able to bring back to life beings who have recently died. After Zoe's death in the transmutation test, Cordelia asked Madison to bring her back, but she refused and even so, she demonstrated that she could use this wonder by resurrecting an insect.
- Descensum: One of the seven wonders, the ability to project your spirit out of your physical body and down to the underworld, your personal hell. An enchantment is required to access this power. Madison demonstrated this power only once, in the Test of the Seven Wonders, being the second to have returned from her personal hell. The enchantment to perform Descensum: "Spiritu duce, in me est. Deduzir-me em tenebris vita ad extremum, ut salutaret inferi. Descensum".
- Witchcraft: Being a witch, Madison has an affinity for magic to cast spells and perform rituals.
- Resurrection Spell: With Zoe's help, Madison was able to perform this spell to resurrect Kyle.
- Spirit Concealment Reversal Spell: Madison helped Behold perform a spell that allows them to see and be seen by the ghosts that inhabit the Murder House.
- Radiation Immunity: When Madison, Myrtle, and Cordelia arrived at Outpost 3, they freely walked in the outside world's toxic atmosphere caused by the nuclear bombs without suffering any ill effects from the radiation. This is revealed because of the healing properties of Louisiana mud. The trio of witches buried themselves in the swamp to protect themselves from the nuclear fallout for nearly two years, and as a result, gained immunity from the radioactive fallout.
