M.A.N.T.I.S. was an American science fiction/action hero television series developed by Sam Raimi and Sam Hamm for Renaissance Pictures and Universal TV. It aired in the United States on Friday evenings at 8:00 pm on the Fox Network spanning a single season and a total of twenty episodes. The final two episodes of the series were later aired on the Sci-Fi Channel in September of 1997. The premise of the series revolves around Doctor Miles Hawkins, a scientist whose efforts to quell a riot result in a permanent spinal injury, confining him to a wheelchair. Using his company's vast resources, he develops the Mechanically Augmented Neuro Transmitter Interactive System (M.A.N.T.I.S.) exo-skeleton and operates as a nocturnal vigilante.
