Mrs. Hack, also known as "The Lunch Lady", is a fictional murderer and a minor antagonist featured in the Hack/Slash comic book franchise published by Devil's Due Publishing and later by Image Comics. She first appeared in a flashback scene in the Hack/Slash: Euthanized one-shot special in April, 2004.

Biography[]

Mrs. Hack lived in Western Wisconsin. Her husband left her shortly after the birth of their daughter, Cassandra. Since being abandoned by her husband, Mrs. Hack grew into an eccentric and overbearing woman. She worked as a cook at a local high school.

Cassie Hack grew up to become an embittered teenager. She attended classes at the same school that her mother worked at, and became known as something of a social pariah, who was often tormented and chastised.

Mrs. Hack decided to strike back against those who bullied her child. She began murdering students and grinding them up and then serving them as a strange "mystery meat" with a side of french fries and a chocolate milk in the high school cafeteria. When the disappearances were investigated, the evidence led straight back to Mrs. Hack. Rather than being taken into custody, Mrs. Hack took her own life by plunging her head into a vat of boiling gravy. [1]

Notes & Trivia[]

  • The character of Lunch Lady was created by writer Tim Seeley and artist Stefano Caselli.
  • Mrs. Hack is a pastiche of Pamela Voorhees, who is mother of Jason Voorhees. Pamela worked as a cook at a campground, and turned psycho after negligent camp counselors inadvertently caused her son to drown in a lake.
