Biography[]
The Lump was a mishapen mass of flesh given a quasi-humanoid form. He was created by the technicians of Section Zero on Apokolips. In the real world, The Lump was just an inert artificial being. However, his mind could be activated in the Realm of the Id, wherein he was all-powerful.
Section Zero staged virtual combat simulations for purposes of entertainment, wherein spectators could view a battle between The Lump and his opponents taking place in the Realm of the Id through a view screen. The Lump was pitted against Mister Miracle and used a wide variety of powers to keep Miracle battered down and trapped. He entangled him with plant vines, fired flames at him from his head, and ensnared him with his own body. Mister Miracle found a piece of reflective rock, and when he held it up to his adversary, The Lump saw the image of his true visage. Repulsed by the horror of his own features, he collapsed to the ground inert. [1]
