- The character of Luke Cage was created by writers Roy Thomas, John Romita, Sr., & Archie Goodwin and artists George Tuska and Billy Graham. He first appeared in Luke Cage, Hero for Hire #1 in June, 1972 in a story titled "Out of Hell -- A Hero!".
- This series is rated TV-MA. It contains scenes of graphic language and violence, and may not be suitable for younger viewers. Viewer discretion is advised.
- The central setting for this series is Harlem, New York City, New York in the present day.
- Prior to the onset of this series, Luke Cage was a supporting character on Marvels' Jessica Jones. He appeared last in the season one finale of that show, "AKA Smile".
