Lucy Lawless is a television actress. She was born in Auckland, New Zealand on March 29th, 1968. Lucy is married to television producer Robert G. Tapert, who was a showrunner on the TV series Cleopatra 2525. Lucy first gained recognition from North American audiences for her portrayal of chakra-slinging warrior woman Xena on the aptly named fantasy series Xena: Warrior Princess. Between 2005 and 2009, Lucy played the role of a humanoid Cylon named D'Anna Biers on sixteen episodes of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica television series. In 2011, Lucy played the antagonistic Helen Burton on four episodes of the short-lived superhero fantasy show No Ordinary Family.
Lucy's stage name is taken from her first husband, Garth Lawless, whom she was married to from 1988 to 1995. They have one daughter together, Daisy Lawless.
