Biography[]
Lucy Ikos was a resident of the town of Barrow, Alaska. She lived in the North Slope Borough and was the proprietor of the Ikos Diner. During the sunless winter that takes place between the months of November and December, many of the townsfolk from Burrow - those who cannot handle the stress of such a turbulent period, elect to leave during the winter months. Lucy however, was one of the few residents who remained behind.
A mysterious stranger came into the Ikos Diner demanding alcohol. Lucy informed him that the sale of alcohol was illegal during the winter season. He then demanded a plate of raw hamburger. When it appeared that the man might be prone to violence, Lucy backed away. Fortunately, Sheriff Eben Oleson and Fire Marshall Stella Oleson arrived to detain the man.
Shortly thereafter, Barrow was beset by a horde of vampires who came to take advantage of the "30 days of night". Lucy was part of a small group of survivors who sought shelter inside the hidden attic of a man named Charlie Kelso. After remaining there for several days, the group ventured out to gather supplies at Steve's General Store. They were caught in a blizzard and were forced to hole up at the store overnight. Although many from the group died as a result of repeated vampire attacks, Lucy was one of the lucky ones who survived. [1]
