Biography[]

Lucille lived in the U.S. state of Virginia in the years leading up to the zombie apocalypse. She was married to a man named Negan Smith, who was a high school gym teacher. One evening, Negan and Lucille were having drinks at a bar when an overly loud patron was drowning out the jukebox, which was playing Lucille's favorite song. Negan tried to convince the man to lower his voice, but when the offender responded aggressively, Negan savagely beat him. Negan soon learned that the man was the father of one of the kids in his gym class, and Negan subsequently lost his job.

Sometime later, Negan began having an affair with a woman named Janine, who was Lucille's best friend. On the day that Lucille received her cancer diagnosis, Negan was spending time with Janine and was unable to pick her up from the hospital. When Negan learned of his wife's condition, he put a stop to the affair immediately. Lucille knew of the affair, but kept it to herself.

As Lucille's cancer worsened, she was admitted to the hospital. It was around this time that the the zombie apocalypse began. Negan brought her back home, but was running low on chemo supplies. He decided to go out to find more, and was gone for several weeks. Shortly after Negan left, Lucille killed herself by tying herself to her bed with a plastic bag around her head.

When Negan finally returned, he found his wife was now a zombie strapped to the bed. He pulled the plastic bag off, but was unable to finish her off directly. He set fire to the house and left. Lucille's body was presumably destroyed in the flames. [2]

The loss of his wife had an adverse affect on Negan's personality, and served as the inciting event that governed the man the man that he was destined to become.
