"Pilot" is the premiere episode of season one of the supernatural crime-drama series Lucifer, which is loosely based on a character featured in comic books published by DC Comics under their Vertigo imprint. The episode was directed by Len Wiseman with a script written by Tom Kapinos. It first aired on the FOX Network on Monday, January 25th, 2016 at 9:00 pm. Lucifer stars Tom Ellis as the eponymous protagonist, Lucifer Morningstar, who has abandoned his post as the ruler of Hell in favor of living life among mortals in the "City of Angels". The series also stars Lauren German as LAPD detective Chloe Decker, Kevin Alejandro as her estranged husband, Dan Espinosa, DB Woodside as the angel Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Lucifer's demon ally Mazikeen, Scarlett Estevez as Chloe & Dan's daughter, Trixie, and Rachael Harris as psychiatrist Linda Martin.
