Biography[]
Louise Marie Brigante was born the daughter of Michael and Angela Brigante on November 3rd, 1931. She also had a brother, Michael Brigante Jr. It is believed that Louise hailed from an organized crime family, and pursued a career in modeling. She married car dealership manager Ronald DeFeo, and with him, had five children, Ronald, Jr. in 1951, Dawn in 1956, Allison in 1961, Marc in 1962 and John in 1965. The DeFeos originally lived in an apartment in Brooklyn, New York City, but moved to a house at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, Long Island around the time that John was born.
On November 13th, 1974, between the hours of 3:00 and 3:15 am, Ronald DeFeo, Jr., for reasons that remain unclear, used a Marlin 336C shotgun and shot and killed every member of the household including his parents and all four siblings. Louise DeFeo's body was found lying face down in her bed with ballistics evidence concluding that she had been shot from behind. She was ten dies shy of her 44th birthday at the time of her death. She was buried at Saint Charles Cemetery in East Farmingdale, New York.
