The character of Loki Laufeyson was created by writers Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Don Rico and artist Jack Kirby. He first appeared in Journey Into Mystery, Volume 1 #85 in October, 1962. Loki Laufeyson is the Asgardian God of Mischief and the half-brother of the God of Thunder, Thor.
This series is rated TV-14.

Allusions[]

The title of this episode is taken from Loki's first line of dialogue from The Avengers in 2012 when he tells Nick Fury, "I am burdened with glorious purpose".
The cold open sequence from this episode is archival footage taken from the "time heist" segment of the 2019 feature film Avengers: Endgame. This includes the capture and subsequent escape of Loki from the Avengers after grabbing a hold of the Tesseract. Characters featured in this scene include Tony Stark, Scott Lang, Thor Odinson, Jasper Sitwell, and the Hulk.
Archival footage from 2012's The Avengers is used in this episode; specifically a scene during the Battle of New York where the Avengers are prepared to launch at the Chitauri invaders. Another scene from the film includes Loki extracting a man's eye in Germany, as well as fatally stabbing S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson in the back.
