Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman is an American television series of the superhero fantasy and romance genres. The show is based on the Superman family of comic book titles published by DC Comics. The character of Superman was originally created by writer Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster back in June of 1938. The series ran for four seasons from September 12th, 1993 to June 14th, 1997, spanning a total of eighty-seven episodes. Each season contained twenty-two episodes each.

Billed cast members for the show include Dean Cain in the dual role of Clark Kent and Superman, Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane, Lane Smith as Perry White, Michael Landes and Justin Whalin as Jimmy Olsen, Tracy Scoggins as Catherine "Cat" Grant, John Shea as Lex Luthor and Eddie Jones and K Callan as Clark's foster parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent. Michael Landes, Tracy Scoggins and John Shea all left the series following season one. The character of Lex Luthor was supposedly killed off, but Shea returned to the show for guest appearances and flashback scenes in later seasons. With the departure of Michael Landes, the role of Jimmy Olsen was taken over by Justin Whalin. Actor Kenneth Kimmins made recurring guest appearances throughout seasons three and four as Bernard Klein.
