Liselotte von Schellendorf, also known as Valkyrie, is a fictional fighter craft pilot and a supporting character featured in the Airboy series of comic book titles originally published by Hillman. She first appeared in Air Fighters Comics #2 in November, 1942.
Biography[]
Liselotte von Schellendorf was born in Germany and came of age during the rise of the Nazi regime. She was raised to become an alluring and dangerous German asset and joined the Luftwaffe as the leader of a squadron known as the Airmaidens, which consisted entirely of female pilots. As the leader of the Airmaidens, Schellendorf was responsible for bringing down numerous Allied planes during World War II.
One pilot whom she could never defeat was code-named Airboy. Airboy showed Liselotte the evil ways of the Nazi regime, and she defected from the German military and joined the allies. She later became a Airboy's lover.
Following the end of the war, the Valkyrie found herself in a situation that left her in suspended animation. She awakened in the modern era, but by this point, her former American lover had long since been dead. She discovered that he had a son, and together they engaged in new adventures.
