"The Simple Secret Note In Us All" is the title to the twelfth episode of the science fiction/crime drama series Life on Mars, which is an American remake of the UK programme of the same name. The episode was directed by Jean de Segonzac with a script written by Becky Hartman Edwards and Adele Lim. It first aired on ABC on Thursday, February 25th, 2009. In this episode, the detectives at the 125 investigate the murder of newspaper journalist Joey Conway. Sam is convinced the killer is the same criminal from a case in 2008. He is motivated by flashbacks to the case, which puts him at odds with his coworkers who think someone else is guilty.
