Levitation is sort of a lame-ass version of flying. A person who possesses this ability can float in the air for a few moments, which looks pretty damn cool in a reality where nobody else can do that sort of thing, but is kinda weak in a reality where numerous people possess super-powers that are a lot cooler. Doctor Strange does this kind of crap all the time whenever he wants to look magnanimous. Sadly, he cannot do this on his own. He requires the Cloak of Levitation to pull this off.
People with telekinesis can also use it to levitate their bodies. Characters such as Jean Grey and Madelyne Pryor from the X-Men family of comic book titles have demonstrated this ability on numerous occasions.
