Lettie Mae Daniels, née Thornton is a recurring character on the HBO television series True Blood. Played by actress Adina Porter, she was introduced in the second episode from season one entitled "The First Taste".
Overview[]
Lettie Mae Thornton is initially presented as the abusive, alcoholic mother of Tara Thornton. Convinced that she has a demon residing in her, she enlists the aid of an alleged voodoo practioner named Miss Jeanette. Although Miss Jeanette is later revealed to be a fraud, the faux exorcism she conducts on Lettie Mae serves it's purpose, and she believes that she is cured of her demons. She then finds strength in her faith and begins a relationship with a local minister named Reverend Daniels, whom she subsequently marries.
