Biography[]

Leonard McKenzie was an explorer who was active in the early decades of the 20th century. He was the captain of a special use icebreaker vessel known as the Oracle. In 1920, Captain McKenzie was sailing through the Southern Ocean en route to Antarctica when his crew began dropping depth charges to help clear the ice flow. Unwittingly, their actions destroyed a major section of the undersea kingdom of Atlantis. Emperor Tha-Korr of Atlantis sent his daugther, the princess Fen to investigate. She infiltrated the crew cabins of the Oracle pretending to be a stowaway and met Leonard McKenzie. McKenzie was captivated by the woman's beauty and exotic blue skin. Although she was intended to be a spy for her people, she fell in love with the ship's captain though she still harbored a deep resentment of all other surface dwellers. The two were married and Captain McKenzie and Fen gave birth to a son, whom they named Namor. [1]
