Notes & Trivia[]

  • The Legion of Super-Heroes were created by writer Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino. They first appeared as a three-member team in the first story in Adventure Comics #247 in April, 1958 titled "The Legion of Super-Heroes". The group would go on to become the main feature of the series and would also spawn numerous Legion of Super-Heroes ongoing comic titles as well as a cartoon series.
  • This is the first appearance of Jacques Foccart. He becomes a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes in this issue as the second Invisible Kid. The first Invisible Kid was Lyle Norg. Jacques is a notable addition as he is the first character of African descent to become part of the Legion. Sure, the Legion was first introduced nearly 25-years earlier, but hey... ya can't stop the wheels of progress, right?
