History[]
The National Legion of Morality was a civilian watchdog group that actively attempted to affect moral change in Quad City.
The Legion held a conference in Quad City to discuss the growth of pornography that they believed was affecting America's youth. The Legion's spokesman B. Lyle Layman encouraged his followers to destroy pornography wherever they would find it in the name of their righteous cause.
Several like minded individuals publicly protested the Readworld Book Store, a benign business that happened to sell popular adult publications.
Detective Andy Flint attended one of Layman's meetings and tried to get a bead on the guy. Something about his cause didn't sit right with him. He drove over to Jack Wheeler's garage to discuss the issue – as well as issues concerning Wild Dog.
Meanwhile, newscaster Susan King and journalist Lou Godder covered the Readworld story.
