Desperate to compete with ratings giant Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show, Delroy hosts a special Halloween episode wherein he invites a young cult survivor named Lilly, who is supposedly possessed by a demon. Jack is confidant that he can become the king of late night entertainment if he can score an interview with the Devil himself.

  • A photograph in the film shows Carmichael Haig standing in front of the Dutch Colonial home formerly occupied by the Lutz family at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, Long Island. This house served as the basis behind the book and movie adaptation of The Amityville Horror. In the scene, Haig takes a shot at actual paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who investigated the Amityville house in early 1976. Fictionalized accounts of this and other cases investigated by the Warrens are chronicled in The Conjuring film series.
  • The Bohemian Grove that is referenced extensively in this film is an actual private gentlemen's club located in Monte Rio, California. While there is no evidence of their members conducing Satanic rituals, you can bet your bottom dollar that they probably hold orgies.

  • When Lilly goes fully demonic, Gus McConnell holds up his crucifix and intones "The power of Christ compels you". This line is derived from an old Catholic prayer attributed to the Rites of Exorcism, but was more popularized in the 1973 film The Exorcist when Fathers Lankester Merrin and Damian Karras chanted it in an effort to exorcise the demon Pazuzu from the body of Regan MacNeil. This is likely where Gus took the phrase from.
  • The movie includes stock footage of cult leader Charles Manson and three members of his "family", including Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten.
  • This movie includes stock footage of serial killer David Berkowitz, also known as the Son of Sam.
  • The well-known magic word "Abracadabra" is referenced by both Lilly and Carmichael Haig in this film. Film lead David Dastmalchian is also known for playing a futuristic super-villain named Abra Kadabra on two episodes of the CW Network television series The Flash.
