Lana Lang is a fictional newspaper editor and businesswoman and a supporting character featured in comic books published by DC Comics. She plays a major role in the Superman family of comic book titles and was an integral part of Superman's early years, often perceived as the on-again/off-again love interest of Clark Kent. The original interpretation of Lana Lang was introduced in Superboy, Volume 1 #10 in October, 1950. The Superman universe went through a major revision following the events of the 1985-86 maxi-series Crisis on Infinite Earths and the character was re-introduced in the first issue of the six-part origin reboot series Man of Steel. The character of Lana Lang has also been brought to life in the Superman film series as well as appearances in the television programs Superboy, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Smallville.
