Lan O'Kun was an American television script writer. He was born in Manhattan, New York City, New York on January 13th, 1932. As a writer, Lan was primarily active from the early 1970s through the late 1980s. Lan's first work in the science fiction genre was writing the "Ted's New Boss" episode of the sci-fi family sitcom, Small Wonder. In 1986, Lan worked on "The World Next Door" vignette from episode 2x04 of the 1985 relaunch of The Twilight Zone. In 1987 he co-wrote the story treatment for the "Haven" episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation along with Tracy Tormé. This was Lan's last known work in the genre.

  • Lan O'Kun was the brother-in-law of Shari Lewis, who was the host of the Lamb Chop's Play-Along children's series. Shari and her husband, Jeremy Tarcher, are also known for writing "The Lights of Zetar" episode from the original Star Trek television series.
