Biography[]

TV series[]

The Lamplighter was a Supe who gained a form of pyrokinesis as a benefit of having Compound V introduced to his system as an infant. He became a costumed superhero employed by Vought International and a member of The Seven.

In 2012, Lamplighter attracted the attention of the Central Intelligence Agency. Deputy Director Grace Mallory had footage of Lamplighter committing a crime and used it as leverage to blackmail him into spying on The Seven for her. Lamplighter decided to get out from under Mallory's thumb by going to her hotel room one night and setting it ablaze. He believed that he had torched Mallory, but in truth, he had murdered her grandchildren. This mistake would haunt Lamplighter forevermore.

Around the year 2019, Lamplighter retired from The Seven, but was still employed by Vought. He was positioned as a nurse at the Sage Grove Center in Pennsylvania. The center was being used to test Compound V on adults to see if they could generate stable power-sets. This project was supervised by another member The Seven, Stormfront. [3]

The Boys infiltrated Sage Grove just as a patient outbreak occurred, which resulted in multiple deaths. Despite being an enemy of The Boys, Lamplighter was forced to work with them in order to escape. He reunited with Grace Mallory, who was prepared to kill him, but Frenchie of The Boys talked her out of it, seeing how overwhelmed Lamplighter with guilt Lamplighter was over the accidental death of her grandchildren. Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Enhanced durability: As a Supe, Lamplighter possesses some measure of enhanced durability that makes him tougher than the average human.
  • Pyrokinesis: The Lamplighter can intensify existing flame and direct it towards a target. He can intensify flames to burn a human target to a smoldering husk within seconds.

Skills[]

  • Lamplighter's personal talents and skill proficiencies, if any, are unknown.

Weaknesses[]

  • Power restriction: The Lamplighter does not generate flame himself, but only acts as an accelerant. He needs an existing flame within close proximity, such as a lighter, in order for his powers to take affect.

Equipment[]

  • Lamplighter's lamp: The Lamplighter carries a staff with him with a flaming head, which he can use to accelerate his powers.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • The Lamplighter's powers are similar in function to the Marvel Comics character, Pyro.

  • Frenchie referred to Lamplighter as "Fils de pute", which translated from French means "Son of a bitch". [3]
