Brain cell stimulator
The brain cell stimulator was developed by scientists from the shrunken Kryptonian city of Kandor. Superman failed to save the life of an archaologist named Professor Steele and was overcome with guilt. He sought therapy from the Kandorians who recommended using the brain cell stimulator in order to give him partial amnesia, so he would not remember the event. Superman agreed, and the scientists placed a head-piece onto him, which projected energy into his brain. The device failed to remove the memory however, and only succeeded in making Superman bitter.
