The Kryptonian Science Council was the political arm of the Kryptonian government on the planet Krypton. Notable members amongst this group included Jor-El and Sul-Van. Jor-El was the only one among them worth a crap, for he was the one that realized that Krypton was on the verge of destruction due to geological instability. The others dismissed him and rolled their eyes, 'cuz they're dicks. Jor-El likely would have had the last laugh had he lived, but as it turned out, he was never more unhappy to be right in his life. Krypton did in fact explode, killing everyone on the surface including the entirety of the Kryptonian Science Council. Fortunately, Jor-El and his wife Lara were able to rocket their infant son, Kal-El, off-world before it exploded. Kal-El eventually landed on Earth and grew up to become the superhero known as Superman.
