Kirby County is a fictional location featured in comic books published by DC Comics. It is associated with the Superman line of comic titles and made its first appearance by name in Superman, Volume 2 Annual #2 in 1988.
Kirby County is located in the Eastern United States. It is situated fifty miles northwest of Metropolis. The most well-known natural landmark in Kirby County is Mount Curtiss, though the general populace is unaware that the inside of the mountain was once the base of operations for Project Cadmus.

- The Habitat
- The Habitat is an arboreal climate region located in Kirby County near Mount Curtiss. It exists in a region known as the Wild Area. It is the home of the Hairies, who are a group of step-ups of DNAliens developed by Project Cadmus. The Habitat includes a passageway known as the Zoomway, which leads back to Project Cadmus.
- Mount Curtiss
- Mount Curtiss is located seventy-five miles northwest of Metropolis in Kirby County. For years, the mountain housed the secret genetics research facility known as Project Cadmus. The woodlands surrounding the mountain were occupied by a bizarre motorcycle gang known as the Outsiders who maintained a haven inside the Habitat. Mount Curtiss was destroyed when a squadron of armored Team Luthor personnel overloaded Project Cadmus' power core, causing a meltdown.
- Wild Area
- The Wild Area was a forest region located in Kirby County, several miles outside of Metropolis. It included the areas of Mount Curtiss, which was the base of operations for Project Cadmus and The Habitat, which was an arboreal commune occupied by the Outsiders and the Hairies.
- Zoomway
- The Zoomway was a road system that led through the Wild Area, several miles outside of Metropolis. It connected the arboreal commune known as The Habitat to Project Cadmus. The Zoomway was a drag-strip that was wide enough to accommodate at least three lanes worth of vehicles.
