History[]
The Brass Frog was an ancient device whose origins are lost to history. It was a metallic device sculpted in the form of a frog, and possessed the ability to open doorways into the timestream, drawing forth creatures and beings from other time eras. Whatever would spring from the doorway the frog opened served as a harbinger of death.
King Solomon had possession of the Brass Frog, which he received as a royal gift, and was buried in his tomb. A group of thieves ravaged the tomb and discovered the artifact. The youngest among them, Ali Baba, tampered with it, thus unleashing a monstrous creature spawned from another time.
Tales of the Frog's influence rose up in fabled Camelot during the time of Merlin. Purportedly, some of the grotesque beings who existed during this era did so by way of the Frog's influence.
Azzari of Wakanda buried the Brass Frog, but it was exhumed years later. It eventually came into the possession of the Collectors, thus continuing its long-running chain of disasters.
During the latter half of the twentieth century, spectators took note of a strange sea monster on Loch Ness in Scotland. Theory has it that the Brass Frog may have a played a role in bringing a creature from the prehistoric era into the this timeline.
A collector named Alfred Queely acquired the Brass Frog and kept it in his home. Tampering with the device unleashed an Aztec warrior who stabbed him through the heart. Queely's associate, Abner Little, and Little's companion, T'Challa the Black Panther, came upon Queely's estate moments after he was killed. The Black Panther fought with the Aztec warrior, who managed to get away. Black Panther maintained possession of the Brass Frog for a brief period, but they were soon captured by the forces of Princess Zanda, who then took possession of the device.
