Biography[]
Kimberly Clark was a blonde-haired girl who was a teenager in the early 1980s. She lived in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, California and attended school at Stanford High School where she played on the girls' varsity basketball team. Kim Clark was friends with Trish Devereaux, Jackie Cassidy, Diane and Linda.
After closing out the basketball season, Kim attended a slumber party being held at Trish Devereaux's house at 3664 Mountain View Avenue. During the party, Kim changed her shirt in front of the other girls (as well as two peeping Toms named Jeff and Neil) and intensified the party atmosphere by supplying a bag of marijuana, which the girls all smoked.
As the night wore on, escaped serial killer Russ Thorn invaded the Devereaux residence and began slaughtering people with a large power drill. He stabbed Kim in the stomach with a kitchen knife.
Moments later, nosy neighbor Courtney Bates came over to the house and began poking about. She opened up the refrigerator and Kim's body spilled out of it. The knife was now lodged in the center of her chest, implying a second and more fatal stab wound. [3]
Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Kim Clark was created by director Amy Holden Jones and screenwriter Rita Mae Brown.
- Either there is a continuity error in the film, or Russ Thorn stabbed Kimberly more than once. In the on-screen kill, she is stabbed in the abdomen, but when Courtney finds Kim's body in the refrigerator, the knife is clearly sticking out of her.
- Actress Debra De Liso was credited as Debra Deliso in The Slumber Party Massacre.
- Actress Debra Deliso was very uncomfortable with doing the nude scene in the shower. A friend of hers agreed to pose as a nude extra in the scene as a show of support. There is one unidentified dark-haired woman whose breasts can be seen in the shower scene. Presumably, this was Debra Deliso's friend.
- Debra Deliso stepped away from acting and became a drama teacher at the University of Southern California. She often received comments from students who had watched her nude scenes in The Slumber Party Massacre, and has also had to endure similar comments from members of the male staff. [4]
- Years before it was popularized, Kim Clark's death demonstrated an early example of the Women in Refrigerators film and literary trope.
