Kijimi was a terrestrial world located in the Bryx Sector. It is a harsh environment with mountainous regions and frigid weather; known for its strong snowstorms. Population centers on Kijimi consisted of humans, Anzellans, and Boosodians. It capital city was Kijimi City. For many years, Kijimi existed as a monastic retreat for several religious orders, but later became a haven for various criminal enterprises, including spice running. Due to the remoteness of the planet, it fell outside the jurisdiction and attention of the New Republic. In later years, the First Order established an occupation of Kijimi and maintained Stormtrooper regiments throughout its population centers.
In 35 ABY, under orders from the reborn Emperor, Darth Sidious, Kijimi was destroyed when the Derriphan, an Xyston-class Star Destroyer fired upon it. Two residents of the planet who were known to have escaped prior to its destruction is Zorii Bliss and Babu Frik.
Points of Interest[]
- Dai Bendu Monastery
- The Dai Bendu Monastery was temple located in Kijimi City, which had been established by a religious order known as the Dai Bendu, who were Force users similar to the Jedi Order.
- Kijimi City
- Kijimi City is the capital city of the planet Kijimi. It is nestled high in the snow-swept mountains and contains small village communities. Kijimi City was known for its spice running operations and several local gangs used the city as a port of call. Notable among these spice runners were Poe Dameron and Zorii Bliss. Criminal self-interest governed most of the city's activities until the occupation of the First Order. In 35 ABY, Poe and his new friends in the Resistance, Rey, FN-2187 and C-3PO came to Kijimi City to find a droidsmith who could reprogram C-3PO. Zorii's friend, Babu Frik, was able to accomplish this task for them.
- Mount Izukika
- Mount Izukika was a snowy mountain on the planet Kijimi. The ancient Kijimi City and Kijimi City spaceport were located high atop Mount Izukika, between other surrounding mountains. During the New Republic Era, the young human Karr Nuq Sin and droid RZ-7 landed the yacht Avadora on Mount Izukika to refuel in the city. Granitic rock was quarried from Mount Izukika and used to construct Kijimi City's streets and buildings
- Quarter of the Beatific
- The Quarter of the Beatific, also known as the Thieves' Quarter, took its name from the Brotherhood of the Beatific Countenance, which was a religious order. For years, spice runners were able to ply their trade in this area unhampered, but with the occupation of the First Order, the Quarter began being used as a refuge for those seeking to avoid the First Order's attention. The Anzellan known as Babu Frik maintained his workshop in the Quarter of the Beatific.
Residents[]
- Babu Frik
- Babu Frik was an adult Anzellan male approximately eighty-five years in age, born sometime around 50 BBY. Around 35 ABY, he was working as a droidsmith on the planet Kijimi. Babu Frick had connections with a spice-runner named Zorii Bliss. Members of the Resistance including Rey, FN-2187, and Zorrii's former colleague, Poe Dameron came to Kimi with a protocol droid, C-3PO. They needed to translate the language etched onto a Sith dagger, which they hoped would pave the way towards the mysterious Sith planet known as Exegol. C-3PO's programming restricted him from translating the text, so they needed Babu Frik to reprogram him. The downside to this, was that by doing so, they would completely erase C-3PO's memory. Babu Frik worked on C-3PO, and successfully rebooted him, allowing the Resistance the ability to translate the text. Soon after, the Final Order had an Xyston-class Star Destroyer destroy Kijimi. Fortunately, both Babu Frik and Zorii Bliss were able to escape the planet's destruction, and later traveled to Exegol to assist the Resistance in their fight against the Final Order.
- Zorii Bliss
- Zorii Bliss was an adult human female and a resident of Kijimi. She was the leader of a gang of spice-runners, which included a young Poe Dameron. Eventually, Poe left Zorii's gang to pursue a career as a fighter pilot. Zorii continued to operate in the Thieves' Quarter of Kijimi City and befriended an Anzellan named Babu Frik. In 35 ABY, Poe Dameron returned to Kijimi, along with his new allies in the Resistance, Rey, FN-2187, and C-3PO. Being an untrusting sort, Zorii had a brief altercation with Rey, who quickly felled using skills developed as a Jedi apprentice. Once cooler heads prevailed, Zorrii agreed to bring the group to Babu Frik's workshop so she could reprogram C-3PO. When the Final Order launched a super-laser that would ultimately destroy Kijimi, both Zorii Bliss and Bab Frik manage to make it off-planet. Bliss and Frik later joined the Resistance and assisted them in the Battle of Exegol, which resulted in the defeat of both the First Order and the Final Order.
