Kick-Ass is an American feature film of the superhero fantasy and action genres. It is based on the Kick-Ass series of comic book titles published by Marvel Comics under their Icon imprint. The film was directed by Matthew Vaughn with a screenplay written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman. It was produced by Marv Films and Plan B Entertainment and released theatrically through Lions Gate Entertainment. It premiered in the United States on April 16th, 2010. The movie was followed by a sequel, Kick-Ass 2, which was released in 2013.
