Kaufman is the name of the primary antagonist, played by John Hollis, in the short-lived 1961 television series A for Andromeda. He was introduced in the second episode "The Machine" and made three more appearances in the series. Hollis reprised the role of Kaufman for the 1962 sequel, The Andromeda Breakthrough, where he played a much larger role. The character was re-imagined in the 2006 television film A for Andromeda, this time played by Colin Stinton.
