Hawkman is a fictional comic book superhero whose real name is Katar Hol. He is featured in titles published by DC Comics and is associated with both his own line of Hawkman titles, as well as books involving the Justice League of America. He was originally introduced as part of the Earth-One Silver Age era, but the character has undergone several reboots due to events published in the 1989 Hawkworld limited series. Katar Hol made his first appearance in The Brave and the Bold #34 in February-March, 1961 in a story titled "Creature of a Thousand Shapes!"
