Karshon is a fictional evolved animal and a recurring antagonist featured in comic books published by DC Comics. He is associated with the Green Lantern line of titles and first appeared in Green Lantern, Volume 2 #24 in October, 1963.
Biography[]
Karshon began life as a normal tiger shark swimming in the Pacific Ocean. A radiation leak from a nearby atomic research facility mutated him, prompting an evolutionary change, that turned him into a half-fish/half-man creature. He developed fantastic psychokinetic powers, as well as enhanced intellect.
Still guided by his animalistic primal need to hunt and kill, Karshon sent his mental energy outward to find a worthy foe. He found Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern. The two fought against one another, but ultimately Hal proved victorious. At the end of the battle, Karshon de-evolved back into a fish-like state. [1]
