Kan is a fictional mystic and a minor character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in a flashback scene in Doctor Strange, Volume 2 #43 in October, 1980.
Biography[]
Kan was an ancient mystic from Kamar-Taj around the time of the late 10th century. He was known as a man of peace, who served as a healer and a teacher. Despite his discipline, he could also be a fierce warrior, and has fought up against various bandits.
Kan was an ancestor to Hamir, who became a manservant of the Ancient One. Hamir's son was Wong, who served in a similar capacity to Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, Stephen Strange.
