"Wrestler of the Devil, Pirasaurus" (悪魔のレスラー ピラザウル) is the sixteenth episode of the Kamen Rider live-action superhero adventure series. It was directed by Itaru Orita with a script written by Masaru Igami. It first aired on the Mainichi Broadcasting System and NET in Japan on July 17th, 1971.
Plot[]
Shocker creates its latest cyborg assassin - Pirasaurus, whose powers are gleaned from a reptile and who has a death mist projector implanted into his head. Pirasaurus tests his might by hijacking a bus load of tourists. He emits his death mist, killing all of the passengers, but unfortunately, he is not immune to his own power and dies as well.
Shocker executive Maya brings the corpse back to their lair to see what went wrong. The scientists determine that the human host was simply not strong enough to embody the Pirasaurus power. After running their requirements through a data system, they determine that Japan's most famed professional wrestler, Noboru Kusaka, will be the perfect host.
Noboru Kusaka participates in a televised event in a sixty minute two out of three match against another wrestler. Hayato Ichimonji is present at ringside and is taking photos. After Kusak secures the win, he retires to his dressing room. Maya and her Shocker assassins lie in wait. They incapacitate Noboru with a poison dart then take him away. Maya runs Noboru's car off a cliff to make it seem like an accident.
Some distance away, Noboru's little brother Kiyoshi waits anxiously for Noboru to return. When this fails, he tells Tobei Tachibana that Noboru is missing.
Back at their lair, the Shocker scientists successfully transform Noboru Kusaka into the new Pirasaurus. The final stage of the process is to remove Noboru's memory. Pirasaurus disguises himself as another wrestler called Satan Mask and participates in a brutal bought. Kiyoshi recognizes this masked figure as his brother and tries to reason with him. Noboru dispatches the child violently then reveals himself as the new Pirasaurus. Kamen Rider appears and fights up against Pirasaurus as well as Shocker's cyborg trainer, Hurricane Joe. The new Pirasaurus proves to be the most challenging adversary Kamen Rider has faced yet.
