Kal is a fictional neanderthal featured on the original 1960s science fiction television series Doctor Who. He made a cameo appearance in the series' premiere episode, "An Unearthly Child", where he was played by a stand-in named Leslie Bates. The character appeared as a shadow in front of the TARDIS only in this episode. Kal made his first full appearance in the subsequent episode, "The Cave of Skulls", where he was played by actor Jeremy Young. Including his cameo appearance, Kal made four appearances in the series in total.

- The character of Kal was created by director Waris Hussein and writer Anthony Coburn.
- Actor Leslie Bates has played various bit roles in Doctor Who episodes throughout the 1960s and 70s, including a Tribesman, a Man at Lop, a Mongol Warrior, a guard, a soldier, a villager and a citizen of Exxilon.
