KRGR 6 is a fictional television broadcasting station featured in both the A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th film franchises. It appeared in the 2003 crossover film, Freddy vs. Jason.
KRGR was located in the U.S. state of Ohio, near the neighborhood of Springwood in Springwood County. In 2003, a news crew responded to the brutal slaying of a teenager named Trey Cooper, which took place at 1428 Elm Street. Local affiliate Channel 6 reported on the incident and interviewed witnesses outside the home. At the Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital, mental patient Will Rollins took note of the story and asked one of the attendants, Kinsey Park, to keep the station on. Seeing as how Rollins was becoming impassioned about this, Park changed the station.
