Description[]
The Jupiter 2 is a flying saucer designed by John Robinson. It was launched for a proposed five-year exploratory mission in 1997 to the Alpha Centauri system. John Robinson was the commander of the voyage with Don West as the pilot of the Jupiter 2. The only other official flight crew member was an environmental control B9 robot. John Robinson brought along his family, which consisted of wife Maureen Robinson, and his children, Judy, Penny, and Will. A stowaway named Zachary Smith sneaked on board and sabotaged the ship shortly after launch, sending it wildly off-course, leaving the vessel and its crew lost in space.
