"Discovery" was originally printed in Astonishing #54 in October, 1956.
This issue presents the first appearances of Thor, Doctor Donald Blake, the mystic hammer Mjolnir and the alien Kronans.
Gorr is the only Kronan who is identified by name in this story. The other two are later revealed to be Korg and his brother Margus. Korg becomes an important figure years later in the Hulk storylines, "Planet Hulk" and "World War Hulk".
First and only appearance of the Mechano-Monster; destroyed in this issue.
