Notes & Trivia[]

  • This movie was filmed in Bucharest, Romania.
  • This is the ninth film directed by Frank Arnold. All of his previous works were either television movies or direct-to-video films. Arnold also directed Josh Kirby: Time Warrior! The Human Pets in 1995. He will go on to direct Josh Kirby: Time Warrior! Last Battle for the Universe in 1996.
  • This is Nick Paine's second and final film work as a screenwriter. He previously wrote the screenplay for Philadelphia Experiment II in 1993.
  • The name Irwin 1138 is taken from the George Lucas sci-fi movie THX 1138.
  • Gepetto is an analog of the fictional Italian toymaker taken from the story Pinocchio, which is best known by its 1940 animated feature adaptation by Walt Disney Productions.
  • Raggedy Ann is based on an actual rag doll which was visually designed by Johnny Gruelle for his series of illustrated books in 1918. The doll itself was first created in 1915. An actual Raggedy Ann doll was allegedly haunted by the spirit of a girl named Annabelle and was eventually collected by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. A more fictionalized account of this particular doll formed the basis for the Annabelle film series.
