Biography[]

John Grayson was an acrobat and trapeze artist for Haly's Circus along with his wife, Mary Grayson, and young son, Dick Grayson. A criminal known as Boss Zucco tried to blackmail old man Haly to take control of the circus, so they could use its caravan for drug smuggling. When this initial tactic failed, they decided to up the ante through an act of sabotage. They placed acid on the trapeze swings, weakening the ropes. During an act, the Flying Graysons were performing their stunts, when the ropes snapped and John and Mary Grayson fell to their deaths. Their young son Dick watched in horror as they plummeted to the ground. One of the audience patrons was Bruce Wayne who sympathized with the now orphaned Grayson. He took him under his wing and trained him how to fight crime as his sidekick, Robin.

Abilities[]

  • Acrobatics: John Grayson was a professional circus performer and a skilled trapeze artist. He was able to do a triple-flip while going one from trapeze swing to the other.
