Joan Appleby, also known as Chantarelle, Lily Houston, and Anne Steele, is a fictional character featured in the "Buffyverse" continuity. Played by actress Julia Lee, she first appeared in the season two episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer titled "Lie to Me". She appeared in two episodes of that series, as well as three episodes of the show's spin-off series Angel.
