The Jimmy Olsen Fan Club is a fictional social group featured in comic books published by DC Comics. It is associated with the Silver Age era of Superman titles and first appeared in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #37 in June, 1959.
History[]
The Jimmy Olsen Fan Club was a social group put together to celebrate the achievements of Daily Planet ace photographer and adventurer, Jimmy Olsen. Jimmy attended many meetings of his own fan club to regale its members of not only his adventures with Superman, but also his own hair-raising escapades, many of which involved Jimmy donning different disguises as well as different forms. He would often dress up in costumes in honor of these stories, such as donning a loin cloth to tell the tale of how he once discovered a lost valley of cavemen and encountered a fire-breathing dragon. Another story involved him dressing up in a Mardi Gras devil costume. Yet another tale he told to the fan club had Jimmy putting on a suit of knight's armor. [2]
Sometime later, Jimmy Olsen came upon a futuristic laser weapon that had once been appropriated by Supergirl. He gave it to his fan club to put on display. Miniaturized Kryptonians from the bottle city of Kandor had to find a way to get the laser gun back, as it had Supergirl's fingerprints on it, which threatened to expose her secret identity should it fall into the wrong hands. On occasion, the Jimmy Olsen fan club would come to Jimmy's aid in times of need. Such an instance took place when two crooks named Monk and "Swipe Durkin attempted to humiliate Jimmy by tricking him into believing that he had won the Pot-of-Gold Sweepstakes. [4]

- There actually exists an evil alien version of the Jimmy Olsen Fan Club that hails from the planet Rax. This story took place in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #65 and was appropriately titled, "The Alien Jimmy Olsen Fan Club". [5]
