Shaft is the code name for Jeff Terrell, a fictional comic book superhero featured in comics originally published by Image Comics. Created by writer/artist Rob Liefeld, he first appeared in Youngblood #1 in April, 1992. The character has also appeared in Liefeld's other publishing companies, Maximum Press, Awesome Comics and Arcade Comics.

Jeff Terrell is a non-powered costumed superhero and a Federal agent. His specialty is the bow and arrow. Jeff is the leader of the hom team detachment of Youngblood, originally based out of Washington, D.C.. Shaft has a no-nonsense attitude when it comes to field command and demands obedience, efficiency and respect from all those under his charge.
Abilities[]
- Archery: Jeff Terrell is an expert with a bow and arrow and can hit his target with tremendous precision and accuracy, often firing multiple arrows at one time. He specializes in striking moving targets and is just as proficient in this skill while moving himself as he is standing still.
- Throwing: Although archery is Shaft's preferred form of combat, Jeff Terrell is just as skilled at any form of thrown objects including weaponry designed specifically for throwing, such as darts, or simple household items.

- The character of Jeff Terrell was created by writer/artist Rob Liefeld.
- The creation of Shaft originally came about in 1987 when Liefeld tooled with the idea of creating a new team of Teen Titans for DC Comics. Shaft was patterned after the DC Comics character Roy Harper, who at the time was going by the code name, Speedy.
- Other famous comic book archers include Oliver Queen, aka Green Arrow in DC Comics and Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye in Marvel Comics.
- There is a Marvel Comics character also named Shaft who uses a bow and arrow. He is a ninja trained by the martial arts master Stick and has appeared in issues of Daredevil.
