Jed is a fictional title featured in the Warlord of Mars multimedia franchise as first envisioned by author Edgar Rice Burroughs. It is a term used on the planet Barsoom by members of the Red Martian race and equates to the Earth title of king or governor. A Jed is a higher rank than a Jeddak, which is a chieftain.
